December 4, 2012- The Northeast Open begins this week at the corporate headquarters of LiveTechnology in Tuxedo Park, NY, and the draw is full of current and recent college squash players.

PST Commissioner Joe McManus couldn't be more pleased to see this development.

"The level of college squash is increasing so quickly," said McManus. "With a brilliant mix of international players and the rapid increase of American talent, the CSA is a fertile territory for PST to recruit talent and we are quickly building a pipeline to this talent."

Headlining this week's draw are four current players on the Yale University team. Hywel Robinson (Wales) is the top seed, he competes at the #1 spot for Yale's team, which is currently the sixth ranked team in College Squash.

Right behind Robinson are Kenneth Chan (Singapore), Richard Dodd (South Africa), and Neil Martin (Ireland). The Northeast Open is occuring in the middle of the college season, and to protect their amteur status none of the four is accepting prize or travel money.

Also competing is Bradbury Thompson (USA), who is finishing his studies this semester at Brown University. Thompson was the #1 player and captain on last season's Brown team.

Vassar's Captain and #1 player Jake Harris will make his PST debut this week at the Northeast Open as well.

Fan favorite Ned Marks has also entered this week's tournament. Marks, now in his mid 20's was a top player for Denison University and now competes on the PST and the SDA doubles tour.

Match play begins Friday night at 5:30 and continues through the weekend. Through the generosity of tournament host LiveTechnology and local sponsors, there is no charge for tickets.
